IMPERIAL DECREE 786: Imperial States' Financial Systems

Hear! Hear!

1. We do by this Our Imperial Instrument decree that from henceforth each of the Imperial States may set up and have a financial system of its own as well as regulate the aforesaid as it sees fit, provided always that the Erb shall remain legal tender in the whole of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth.

2. We do furthermore by this Our Imperial Instrument declare that, without the limiting the generality of the preceding clause as well as subject to the same, the aforesaid right granted by Us to every Imperial State shall include the power to:

   1. Determine who within the borders of the Imperial State may coin and print money;
   2. Determine what is legal tender for the payment of debts within the borders of the Imperial State;
   3. Which, if any, foreign currencies are legal tender within the borders of the Imperial State;
   4. In which manner commercial transactions may legally be settled in the Imperial State;
   5. Regulate and supervise financial institutions that operate within the borders of the Imperial State;
   6. Decide not to regulate its financial system at all.
